Honouring traditional silk weaving techniques that have been handed down through generations, we proudly use exquisite hand-loomed 100% pure silk. Handwoven Silk - The Elsewhere Co.

Woven entirely by hand on traditional looms, our silk is incredibly beautiful, boasting a uniqueness in quality, texture and style not found in mass-produced machine made silks.

Through our silk collection, we hope to bring you truly exquisite accessories that offer the perfect balance of artisanal techniques and modern design.

Silk Threads

Our silk accessories embrace the slow fashion principles of small batch and limited edition handicraft production. All aspects of the production process are hand-crafted with each accessory being designed, woven, dyed, screen-printed and tailored by hand using traditional methods (made by real artisans not robots). This comprehensive process ensures that each and every accessory is as unique as you.

Ethically handcrafted by artisan weavers in Cambodia, it can take up to one day to weave a single metre of silk, which we think you'll agree is pretty special. Silk weaving provides essential skilled employment which enables women to weave from home and maintain their traditional family life rather than emigrating to cities in search of work.

Silk Weaving

Our premium ikat silk is traditionally used to make clothing for special occasions and royalty, with Cambodian ikat silk considered amongst some of the most intricate in the world due to its exquisite fine detail. Each piece is a unique work of art and can take between 3-7 days for a weaver to complete just a single metre.
